SOLD……...A turned bone go-to-bed. c1850A go to bed made of domestic animal bone. It has the built in holder for a single match to light you to bed in its lid and several old matches inside. The base is ring turned which acts as a striker. c1850 5cm high base diameter just under 3cm In good condition it is animal bone and not ivory so it has obvious flaws in the material and two old dirt filled expansion cracks at the base which are stable. The edge of the case is tooled in gold

The top is a carved and pierced pearl disc and the barrel section domestic animal bone

a silver tooth powder box and a silver tongue scraper

The blades almost meet at the point ( see photo ) and they do cut although will need sharpening if they are to be put to use
