Johann Michel, Cornas Cuvee JanaA dense yet silky, broad and textural wine with aromas of dark berries, grilled meat, warm spices and a hint of leather. Its full bodied with superfine, almost creamy tannins. It has so much texture and plenty of volume. The gigantic dimensions do not remove any of its refinement. An exquisite Cornas where syrah shines. Long, textural finish. Drink or hold.

I suspect that it is again the abundant gas

Notes of pain grillé combine with mildly exotic aromas that are not dissimilar from those of the Caillerets though here there is a distinct petrol element as well

earthy and mildly floral aromas also evidence ripe red currant and black raspberries

There is a hint of warmth but overall this is quite well-balanced and the length is remarkable

The medium to full-bodied 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Tanbark Hill Vineyard delivers complex notes of mountain fruit
