The Gaze, Eye Cut Moissanite for Look Outside, 10ctThis is a special moissanite eye faceted with a dark dichroic layer at the culet which gives it a pupil! I cut it to commemorate the final release of Look Outside which I worked on. It weighs in at 10ct and measures 14mm in diameter. I think this might be the coolest gem I've cut! It's extremely brilliant and throws a ton of color and brilliance, and when you look at it it looks back! It has a few growth needles running down the length which get

able to work off of battery power or directly plugged in to AC power

This is a custom faceted lab ruby cut in my new 'Coolest S' design

but also light enough that it doesn't quench the dispersion--cut stones are still incredibly fiery

Unlike the more common YAG (Yttrium Aluminum Garnet) this is pure Ytterbium Aluminum Garnet

This is an unusual synthetic material

This is a custom cut Kyber-inspired laser ruby cut specially for May the Fourth

a giant egg faceted from sapphire

but that material is honestly boring compared to the real deal

Note that LiTAO3's hardness is just under 6

rendering them inoperable--sometimes to salvage rods they can saw off ends and then repolish them

While this method is very cheap it has some limitations--it can only produce relatively small pieces and the material produced is not precisely the same as natural spinel

These are lab created sapphires which were grown for use as a sensor window in the F35 fighter jet but didn't quite meet spec
