SOLD….…..A pair of gold handled scissors and sheath. English c 1830. a/fA pair of fine gold handled scissors and matching blade sheath c1830. The gold is unmarked but tests to higher than 9 carat but lower than 18 carat. However it is the quality that matters the handles are unusual and very delicately made. 9. 5cm long Finger ring span 3. 5cm. NB. Please note that one of the finger rings has had a repair at some time as seen as a straight line in the last two photos but it is In otherwise good condition. Stock no. LE09

The back of the box has been inlaid with three raised black bands in ebony so that it resembles the bound spine of a book

The scale weighed letters from 1 to 6 ounces priced at 1d to 2 1/2d and has a sprung clip to hold them

It is very light in weight typical of French etui of the period

A cord could be easily attached through the two holes if desired

A maroon leather case lined in matching velvet and fitted with silver sewing tools in their own cut out compartments

The silver is in good condition and the blades cut

the tools sitting in recesses

and the pattern is slightly narrower on one part of the rim

In is lined in brown velvet and has a gold toothpick inside
