CreediteKnown for its beautiful prismatic crystals, often radiating outward from a central axis, Creedite is named for the place of its initial discovery, the Creede Quadrangle in Colorado. Creedite is a rare mineral in the hydoxylhalide group and is often formed from the intense oxidation of fluorite formations. Only known from a relatively small number of formations worldwide, Creedite is sought after for its unique fine crystalline structure.

The darker color is caused by differing conditions and impurities during formation that changed over time leaving the area closer to the crystal's surface lighter or more transparent
