Las Choyas Geode Half

Las Choyas Geode HalfThis half of a Los Choyas solid geode from the Chihuahuan Desert area of Mexico. It has the characteristic light blue fine bands of chalcedony creating beautiful patterns and it has some areas of parallax lines. A parallax is created when the agate is translucent enough and the fortification lines are finely spaces and cast a shadow on each other when you move the agate in the light creating an optical illusion. it is approximately 3 1 2 x 3 1 2

This pair of bookends I cut from Ocean Breeze Jasper found near Coos Bay

Many dendrites resemble tree branches or bolts of lightning but in this one it resembles a bug with wings

These are large geodes at 5” x 4” and is UV reactive showing green for trace amounts of uranium in parts of the core

These are hard to acquire and are in short supply but are distinctive and unique with their dark green shell that is hard and gives a nice polish

This Las Choyas geode half has a beautiful outer banding of blue agate with a touch of purple surrounding translucent bands all the way to the center making this one a bit more unusual than others
