with color intensity usually deepest at the termination or tip of each crystal

and is one of the more common gems although pieces of exceptional hue and clarity are considered fairly rare and can be extremely valuable

This preglabellar ring (head shield) is covered in many sensory pits which may have held hairlike features when the trilobite was alive

Malachite has been mined for both use in copper tools and for ornamentation and jewelry
