Description
SOLD..............A small Tartan Ware purse. 19thcA small purse with steel mounts and with Tartan Ware panels. The steel clasp is stamped Brevete and MunH Sse. Inside it is lined in red cloth. 6 x 4. 5 cm 2. 5 x 1. 75 inches. In very good condition some surface wear to the Tartan decoration. Stock no. KN01
There is some scratching across the maker's name and address through overzealous cleaning but otherwise they are in good condition and early scissors are hard to find

Condition- The horn is in good condition
It is a dark chocolate brown in colour and the finished article is hard to distinguish from wood
The slider is gilt as are the metal barrel shaped ends
An engraved 9 carat gold mechanical pencil with a bloodstone seal terminal
13 cm 5 inches
There are no maker's initials on the base or any other hall marks but is typical of the period
South Ayrshire referred to by Robert Burns as the Castle of Mongomery
It has its original spangle with square cut beads and is in excellent condition
