The Art Tatum Legacy Olympic Records Stereo LP 7120

The Art Tatum Legacy Olympic Records Stereo LP 7120I just cleaned this double album on my VPI 16. 5 record cleaner and then played it on my Rega Planar Three. This is a historical record, originally recorded in 1939 on shellac. The pressing itself is very quiet and that is discerable between pieces. There are no technical faults with this pressing and any faults come from the source 78 records in this case. It is a faithful transfer of the 78 sources and, as such, sounds about as good as 78s ever do.

These tubes have pretty gray and silver bottles

This album is in pretty good shape with light-to moderate surface noise (pops and ticks) and no scratches

They tested 50/38

Transconductance measured 44 and 48 where minimum (65%) is 35 and 100% is 54

35 and 42 where minimum (65%) is 26 and 100% is 40

8 milliamps while transconductance measured 2440 micromhos

steel support rods and anode radiators for cooler operation and longer life

they were forwarded to West Germany
