The chains are also pierced steel with studding and the central two are linked

Inside the black velvet lining is very worn

In excellent condition- no loose threads or wear but with a small stain on the reverse

A small trinket / desk box made of ebonised wood inlaid with brass and tortoiseshell just on the lid

A lovely black silk needle book embroidered with leaves and flowers in ribbon work

Just under 9cm in length

* The gold is unmarked but has been tested

The lid is fitted with a mirror and is edged in the same chenille

a fixed box containing a pin cushion which is topped by an acorn shaped cover- it may have contained a tall wooden thimble originally but is now empty

The spring action is strong and the silver spring cover is engraved with groups of stepped lines
