Set in a 14ct gold signet ring mount, with engraved shoulder decoration and dating from the 1930s, it's a lab grown ruby of the most remarkable, purest, brightest red colour and a colossal 13. 5 carats in weight. Really quite wild. Lab grown stones caused something of a sensation when they became available to the public around 1905. Their chemical composition is identical to naturally occurring

but it's generally accepted that they were destroyed in the fire-bombing of Königsberg by the RAF

It's crafted in 15ct gold and platinum with a fine millegrain halo around the diamond and little ruby eyes either side of the snake's head
