2005 Teusner Albert Shiraz 1.5L MagnumA tribute to Kym Teusner's grandfather Albert, the fruit for this wine is sourced from two old vine blocks in the northern Barossa Valley. The warm, dry 70 year old block in Ebenezer contributes density and strength, the other, a cooler, 50 year old site near Williamstown, provides the Albert elegance and fragrant lift. The aroma is a little shy at first

This is a beautifully structured wine

and then placed in five-year-old barrels to finish the fermentation process

accented by delicate floral aromas and a touch of honeyed sweetness

with only perfect berries entering the one tonne open fermenters
