A pair of steel cage form winding clamps. c1820-1830A rare pair of steel clamps for winding thread. Probably once fitted into a sewing box but have managed to stay together. c 1820 1830. French? 13 cm long with the screw in the position shown in the photo. 4cm at their widest. In excellent condition no damage and retaining a mirror finish. Some minor tarnish and the odd spot of rust the photos make it look worse! Stock no. KV30

A gilt metal monocular set with mother of pearl panels

935 and has a gilded interior

The varnished finish is the original and in good condition

on the lid and on the base section

It is in good condition and-as it has a steel core- is free from holes

2 inches in diameter

The indents are waffle shaped rather than the more usual dimpling

The handles are made of thick pieces of carved mother of pearl and the steel hook sections are of good quality

3cm in diameter (1 +1/10th inch)

There is also some decorative carving and shaping
