Handwoven Willow Mushroom BasketValrie Lavaure works from her remote studio just outside Uzs, France, where she weaves beautiful, functional baskets by hand. With a soft spot for colour, she explores the rich spectrum afforded by the different varieties of willow, just like the array of tints on this basket. Although purpose built by design intended for wild mushrooms and other foraging favourites its equipped for a host of other functions, both in and out of the home.

It features a feather carbon Damascus steel blade and a traditional ‘Wa’-style handle made from Indonesian Spalted Tamarind – a type of wood that undergoes a natural process of decay and discolouration (caused by fungi breaking down the fibres) to result in intricate lines and a unique grain pattern
