I have a few of these so there are slight variations in the way the cup looks

The words are "China Incident Victorious Return Commemoration"

which is the army flag

but there were other occasions too

and the words "18th Infantry Regiment" "The Year of Russia Conquest Commemoration"

Inside the box is an original postcard holding envelope with a Japanese flag and the words "Comfort postcards"

This is probably a family celebrating the birth of their daughter while also celebrating the national foundation 2600th Anniversary
