Lucien Le Moine, Gevrey Chambertin Estournelles St JacquesAn elegant, pure and airy nose blends notes of both red and dark berries with good spice and a vaguely earth wisp that is trimmed in a touch of wood. The rich, generous and surprisingly full bodied flavors manage to retain a good sense of refinement on the sappy, moderately austere and much less compact finale.

There is superb complexity and fantastic length and this mineral-driven effort should be capable of drinking well after only 12 years or so of bottle age but require a solid 20 before it’s completely mature

The finish is quite gassy and a bit hard to read but my projected range offers the benefit of the doubt that the underlying material
