Cockerellites Liops (Priscacara)This is a nice 4 1 4 Cockerellites (Priscacara) Liops on a piece of lake bottom siltstone that is 8 x 10. Photos of this fish being uncovered during the prep work are included and it has been sealed for display. It is from the sought after 18 layer of The Green River Formation in Wyoming. The fish in this layer are very dark and have a robust preservation with excellent detail. They are nearly always found covered in stone and have to be carefully

Cockerellites (Priscacara) liops - a species of extinct temperate bass

This is a stone sphere made in Oregon from material found in Western Utah

It has the characteristic light blue fine bands of chalcedony creating beautiful patterns leading to a white core in the center and it has some areas of very distinct parallax lines

the name means "to have tooth"

These geodes are mined in the Chihuahuan desert of Mexico

then cut and polished

It does sit nicely flat on its own so a stand is not necessary
