To bring designs such as this bowl to life, craftspeople begin with a prototype, either sculpted from scratch or revived from an original iron mold. Molten pewter is then poured, cooled and released before being polished and hand welded into form. The final flourish comes in the chiseling and engraving, each piece finished with touchmarks that whisper of its makers
