Domaine, Henri Magnien(from a . 31 ha holding of 60+ year old vines). Generous wood is sufficiently prominent to all but overshadow the very ripe aromas of mocha, plum liqueur and warm earth. There is excellent richness and volume to the dense and powerful broad shouldered flavors where the abundant dry extract imparts a sappy texture as well as buffers the very firm tannic spine shaping the impressively long and well balanced finale. This clearly needs to more fully

wood toast

but I still find it a bit light

Brisk and tightly wound

There is just enough wood present to warrant mentioning on the spicier and more deeply pitched nose of plum

A blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc

silky tannins

cool and very fresh nose of green apple

weight and punch to the relatively elegant broadshouldered flavors that possess good depth and length but there is a surprising lack of punch

orange pith and a hint of praline

A more elegant and exuberantly fresh nose combines notes of cherry and dark currant with those of plum

The 2016 Vintage Port was originally seen about a week before bottling in a more unsettled incarnation

There is a bit of wood in evidence but I doubt that it will take very long before it is fully integrated
