This is caused by the fact that the ground load on the gauge wheel is offset from the center of the row where the arm contacts the adjustable stop

The blades are made from 3/16 heat treated steel and are mounted at about a 45 degree angle to the wheel
THE BEARINGS ARE A SLIP FIT INTO THE COLLARS
This allows us to add washers to the bolt to get the proper spacing between the closing wheels
