Georgian Emerald Paste Ring

Georgian Emerald Paste RingCute antique ring dating from the Georgian period, circa 1820. It's set with a vivid green paste gemstone orientated east west on the head, and set over foil to enhance it's brightness and colour. Over the years the stone has lost its facet edges, making the crown appear almost as a rectangular cabochon an unusual effect. Built in 15ct gold with ornate scrolled shoulders and a reeded band. It's dainty and very much wearable. Era: Georgian circa 1820

The stone displays only very light surface wear (nibble/scuffs) and the foil remains bright and largely free from tarnish - see images
