It weighs in at 3. 6ct This is a real lab grown alexandrite (not one of the many simulants) which was faceted from a laser crystal top. This material is trichroic (meaning it shows three different colors depending on the direction you look through the stone, aligned with the faces of the cube), color changes under different lights and has strong red fluorescence it

Fortunately for us only the middle portion of the garnet crystals can be used for lasers and we were able to buy some of the unused tops to repurpose as gems

This one is an odd one--moissanite with striking dichroism

It's also a little tenebrescent--exposure to UV intensifies the color while allowing it to sit in the dark for a while returns it to its original intensity

There is a red glow to these stones thanks to their strong fluorescence but it doesn't dominate like it does in the photos

They are great for any lover of science

This stone measures 23x21x19mm and weighs in at 45g--it is totally clean
