Victorian Paste Swallow NecklaceCharming antique swallow necklace dating from the late Victorian era, circa 1880. It's beautifully made, crafted in sterling silver and studded with glistening white paste gemstones with a tiny red garnet eye. We've removed damaged brooch fittings, adding two small loops and a silver chain for wear as a necklace. In ancient Greek and Roman mythology, the deities were able to metamorphose into swallows, and killing one was seen as terribly unlucky. To

incorrect for the Roman period

is flanked to either side by a white diamond and a pink tourmaline - the round stones chosen to complement the colours of the step cut centre

and the size makes it wearable either on the pinky or one of the larger fingers (index looks dope)
