The outer edge has a scalloped pattern and on the reverse the back can be removed to place a small photograph, this was originally for a lock of hair. These brooches were called victorian hair brooches. The brooch is silver but does not have a hallmark. This brooch measures 2. 8cms in diameter and fastens
