The clay used to make these beads is responsibly mined from the foot of Africa's second tallest mountain Mt. Kenya. The beads are handmade by our maker mums who roll and shape the clay by hand. Some of the women have been at this art for more than 50 years. The raw bead is sun dried for a day before its fired in a kiln (bisque firing) at 900 degrees to harden it. After
