Heart Urchin (Maretia planulata)The Heart Urchin Maretia planulata is another unusual and rarely seen Urchin in the hobby. Rather flat bodied with long, hair like spines (they can be sharp! beware) with a fuzzy texture of smaller spines. This urchin spends it's days living under the substrate sandbed munching away on algaes and detritus found within. Due to it's life style you'll rarely see this urchin, though if you look close enough you may see some of the hair like long spines

They catch the eye but in a different way due to the size of the polyps amongst over members of its family
