Ferocactus schwarziiFerocactus schwarzii This is an unusual species of in that it starts out with the dense stout spines you expect from this genus but the older and larger it gets the less spines it has. Or more properly the smaller the spines get until it looks almost spineless in some mature specimens. Like most Barrels it can be a landscape specimen if grown in grown in the appropriate climate but does just fine in a pot in other places. Flowers are bright yellow.
