Spinel (Ruby Spinel) ("floater")A textbook octahedron of Ruby Spinel with smooth, sharp, well formed faces and a classic red color. The crystal is complete all the way around, but it also shows an interesting hollow cavity which gives the piece character and a uniqueness not often seen in single Spinel crystals. The color is excellent, but the piece shows an even stronger red fluorescence under UV light. The area around Mogok is world famous for producing the finest crystals and

as the mine is a large commercial production

A wonderful specimen from a district that produced some of the most classic "casts" from all of Colorado

but I can't find a listing for anything close to this in any database

Lastly a small

The largest Microcline crystal measures 3

and until very recently

A very small nick on the top of the piece is the only spot of damage that I can see on the display side (the piece is incomplete on the back where it detached from the pocket wall)

Most of the crystals are in excellent condition but it is contacted on the back

hexagonal Apatite crystals measuring up to 3

I can't really find any true damage

snow-white blades of Baryte forming a beautiful “flower”-shaped group on minor matrix

and virtually everything goes into the crusher
