Antique Japanese Military 1895 Battle of Weihaiwei Commemorative DishThis is an antique Japanese dish, decorated with a detailed picture of the bay of Weihaiwei, with ships sinking in the back and Japanese troops marching on the defenses in the front. This was a harbour and fort designed by German advisors for the Qing government, and was the main port of the Qing Beiyang fleet. The Japanese were trying to take this (and succeeded in doing so) as the last major battle of the Sino Japanese War of 1895. The words on the

The guy has a Order of Rising Sun 6th class and what looks like perhaps the Boxer Rebellion or Russo Japanese war medal
