A tooled leather needle case with petit point panels. c 1860.A needle case book in burgundy leather with decorative gold tooling in the corners and on the edge. Both sides have an inset panel of petit point flowers. Inside it is lined in a figured green paper and has a rather moth eaten piece of cloth for the needles. The silk ties are still attached though fragile. 9 x 6cm In very good condition other than the moth holes in the needle cloth which could easily be swapped few a fresh piece and a few little dark

The lid hinges back to reveal space for the packets and the maker's information is stamped on the base

In very good condition- no damage to the pink /green pearl and the blade is the full length and not sloppy

There are no silver marks which is quite typical of the period which is circa 1800

The pearl cover is set with an unengraved silver cartouche

Inside it is lined in cream silk and fitted with edge stitched flannel for loose needles

There are no maker's marks or symbols
