Fairfax Murray recalled that when the 9th Earl of Carlisle (d. 1911) saw the picture he thought it represented 'the [3rd] building earl & his sister but was doubtful about it after. Anyway there is (or was) a printed label on the back, the girls name I think was Katherine but am not sure. I have never taken the trouble to catalogue my own pictures.' The
