2024 Hobo Wine Co. Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander ValleyIt's rare to find a California Cabernet Sauvignon that counts cedar, herbs, graphite, and cassis as core aromas. This is a time capsule Cab, the kind of thing people made in the 1970s, before scores made people pump their Cabs up with hot air and late pick dates. Lovely citrus fruits on the nose followed by white tea

and an indisputable "fraîcheur" that makes it absolutely suitable for summer dining

and the restraint and mystery that makes the wine compelling but not bombastic
