Bob Cabral Wines, Zallah Ranch RieslingThe 2016 Riesling Zallah Ranch is the first vintage of Riesling from Bob Cabral Wines. Grapes come from the Yakima Valley in Washington, although the label carries an "American" designation because it was fermented in California. The palate is powerful and texturalit was fermented and matured in concrete and has 5. 9 grams per liter residual sugaryet very refreshing, with a balance of zesty, energetic acidity and concentrated candied citrus flavors.

A subtle touch of menthol character is present on the slightly riper and spicier red and dark cherry aromas that display additional breadth in the form of earth and sauvage hints

The palate is well-balanced with pointed acidity

There is excellent volume and mid-palate density to the medium weight and overtly mineral-suffused flavors that possess a very generous and sappy mouth feel before concluding in a lingering and balanced finish

This is very definitely and ‘buy and forget it somewhere deep in the cellar’ wine
