SOLD……An unusual needle case worked in straw bound with leather. 19thcA finely made needle book made of strips of straw tied with silk and the edges bound in narrow cream coloured leather. It is backed by linen. There are three leaves of cloth for keeping loose needles safe and these are tied to the cover with silk ribbon. It is probably an example made by a Shaker as all the materials used are natural. 7 x 5. 5 cm 3 x 2. 25 inches In excellent condition other than staining to the linen backing ( see photo ).
