Set with alternating diamonds and pearls, the former set in platinum and the later set in 18ct gold to create a striking, bimetal effect. The pearls are natural, and the diamonds are an archaic old cut, the Peruzzi or square modified brilliant, named after the Venetian lapidary Vincenzo Peruzzi who is credited with creating this precursor to the modern brilliant cut in the late 17th century. there is a strong and ancient link to the divine feminine (mirrored by the sun representing the male principle) and the crescent is often placed with the two points upwards on the crown of the head - like 'horns'

Simple split shoulders draw the eye the black and red-flecked stone

tested as 18ct gold (bail is 15ct)
