An inscribed lace bobbin- A Present from an Aunt 1837.A spot drilled bone lace bobbin which reads in a spiral from the bottom up 'A Present from an Aunt 1837' It is in good condition with some wear towards the spangle end through handling but the words are still readable. NB. Lace making was a cottage industry using domestic animal bone and local soft woods not ivory. Stock no. KS11

In good condition- the original varnish has been removed and the piece refinished

There is a little damage to the points at the bottom of the line holders but it has survived in remarkable condition considering its age and use

A thickly carved mother of pearl stiletto made in two parts

The base has a tiny loop of beads in lieu of a tassel

5 cm high including the little turned spindle

The front is decorated with a spray of flowers within a crosshatched border

Diameter of top 22mm (smaller than is usual)

Condition- in good condition other than a small chip on the edge of one lens

A well carved bone pin cushion with a green silk cushion pin stuck with old coil headed pins
