Ametrine (natural bi-color Quartz)

Ametrine (natural bi-color Quartz)Ametrine is the naturally occurring bi colored variety of Quartz that is only found at the Anahi Mine in Bolivia. Some material is marked as coming from Brazil, but in reality, the rough is sometimes shipped from Bolivia across the border (which is only about 40 km away) to be processed in Brazil. There is no reported discovery of Ametrine anywhere in Brazil, and the Bolivian Ametrine remains the best and frankly ONLY commercially available material

and it was a part of my private collection for years

The quality is excellent for the species

Here we have a very dramatic

we have an incredibly large "Spinel-twinned" BI-COLOR Fluorite specimen that is not only impressive for its size

essentially taking it back to its original state

black cyclic twinned crystal group with virtually no damage and decent sized crystals

The final touch to the piece is the rarely seen Quartz and Siderite matrix with minor black Cassiterite

and I've only seen a few pieces of the material over the years

but this crystal has approximately 90% gem clarity

Matrix specimens are rare from Tomokoni
