Antique mourning ring, 15ct gold, hairwork, MW initialsA sweet antique Victorian mourning ring. A rich yellow gold band with a band of tightly woven brown plaited hair wound around the band and secured with engraved gold spacers. The front of the ring has a central gold panel monogrammed with the initials MW. Unmarked, tests as 15ct, C1880s, Victorian era, English make. Condition: Good used condition overall, minor light surface wear internally, some areas of wear to the hairwork, general signs of use and
It has a decorative silver shamrock design intercepting the paste and has an old c type clasp and pin fastener

The case is struck with Swiss silver hallmarks of 3 bears which were used for watches made in Switzerland and imported to the UK made from 935 silver
It is marked on the inner reverse 830 along with some other marks
