A super quality cut glass scent bottle. c1840

A super quality cut glass scent bottle. c1840A lovely dressing table scent bottle complete with stopper. The glass is hobnail cut, has a stepped shoulder and star burst base. 13cm high including the stopper. Base 5. 3x5. 3cm In excellent condition no damage. Stock no. LF17

It was made for a fitted sewing box sold in the original spa town of Spa now in Belgium

The red velvet cushion which forms the lid is the original and even has a little wooden nob

The lenses are round and are corrective

Although one of the two reels shows obvious signs of it being made of domestic animal bone the other doesn't but they are a pair

10cm long (just under 4 inches)

A hound  (implying faithfulness)

In excellent condition- there is a very shallow indent which shows up in the photographs but camera flash has made it look more prominent than it is

The top unscrews from the bone base

All but one of the silver rivet covers are missing and there is wear to the end of the silver spring and to the silver bolster

The reverse is a disc of mirror glass and the two sandwich a dark green velvet cushion for the pins

The nap on the red velvet cushion has worn away leaving just pink cloth but there is no damage
