Louis Jadot, Musigny(from 90+ year old vines in a parcel measuring . 32 ha). Background notes of wood are discernible but stop short of being invasive as they still allow the restrained, cool and pure dark berry fruit and black cherry aromas to shine. Interestingly this is less overtly spicy as the Amoureuses at present though there is a genuinely gorgeous inner mouth perfume to the suave, round and polished middle weight plus flavors that possess plenty of underlying

in the (rightly named) Unico method (72 months’ oak)

This year there is no Monfortino

Spicy and precise on the palate

The bouquet is broad and wide-sweeping with a healthy succession of red berry

all in the ripe

Less classic than some

This is evolving glacially and certainly much slower than I originally foresaw but it should be a stunner of a Clos de Vougeot when it finally reaches its peak

Mild reduction pushes the underlying fruit to the background but I doubt that it will persist

Its inky black color is followed by classic notes of smoked meats

structured Cristal layered with considerable fruit

The tannins are silky and polished throughout

The 2012 Pavillon Rouge is soft
