The steel end is a typical spade shape. 19th century. 7 cm Just under 3 inches Condition There's some pitting and tarnish to the steel and it is also likely that the spade end has been re shaped at some time. Stock no. KD22
The sleeves are horn and the silver blade is stamped Wilks
The book is in excellent condition
A pretty silver sewing stiletto / awl with a mother of pearl point
In excellent condition- no needle holes
There's no handwriting in it but there is a scrap of paper in the front pocket dated 1816 mentioning a Lieutenant George Thomas of the HMS Tigris 'whilst in the West Indies though but arrived at the age of manhood' -'displaying an example for the Christian
