Michele et Patrice Rion

Michele et Patrice Rion(from the tiny . 41 ha premier cru section). An interesting nose of white pepper, ripe plum and black fruit coulis merges seamlessly into the opulent and very rich medium bodied flavors that coat the palate while the lingering and balanced finish is nicely satisfying. Note however that this pretty effort will need to add depth to merit the upper end of my projected range.

A spicy and very Vosne-like nose freely offers up its aromas of black pinot fruit

Stony and alkaline

unwinding in the glass with a youthfully reticent bouquet of dried flowers and delicate hints of red berries and gingerbread

This has balance

This is not a Chambolle of lace and grace but I like the delivery as well as the underlying material

so I don't like those

suggestions of cardamom and nutmeg
