A black velvet bag with steel beading. c1850A striking black velvet evening bag with a steel mount, steel bead fringe and decorative steel beading. There are also some black 'french jet' beads in amongst the steel for heightened effect. It's carried by a black silk ribbon. Condition there are some loose threads so, although not obvious, there are probably some missing beads however none are dropping off now. There is also a bit of metal by the hinge on one side replacing a lost steel rivet but
