A base metal vesta case commemorating the coronation of Edward V11. c1901A silver coloured base metal match case vesta commemorating the coronation of Edward V11 in 1901. The crown on the top is known as the St. Edward's Crown. It is inscribed on the front with the original owner's name a T. Hardwick. in excellent condition it looks much more silvery than the photos suggest. No damage and the spring action is sound. 6. 5 x 3cm not including the suspension ring. Stock no. LF47

Probably French c1860 as miniature accessories for dolls were very popular there at this date

faint silver mark on the rim- possibly French but certainly Continental

It is in excellent condition-no damage and by well known London makers Halstaff and Hannaford of Regent Street London

It is calibrated in ounces with the corresponding cost - 1d

The silver is stamped with a set of English hall marks for London 1904 but they are imported as there is the additional F mark

It is edged with gilt paper and decorated with an embossed print in blue and gold on a white ground
