Like storm clouds rolling in on a hot, summer day, 'Calm before the Storm' emerges yellow in the spring, then gradually turns blue. The Hosta sieboldiana heritage give excellent substance, cupping, and corrugation at maturity. Wide, purple petioles push color right up into the base of the leaves. Hosta 'Calm before the Storm' is a beautiful garden plant and is great for hybridizing! (R. Solberg)
