Antique silver jewellery casket, 1910'sA beautiful antique Art Nouveau sterling silver jewellery casket. Oval shaped with a lightly scalloped rim to the lid, it stands raised on four decorative paw type feet. It has a small lip for ease of opening, inside the base is lined with a dark beige velvet. Hallmarked on the inner of the lid with short hallmarks and in the rim Birmingham, 1919, makers mark is worn. The underside has a leather covered card base. Ideal for storing small jewellery

The front is unusually decorated with a nice range of stones and colourways

It comes on a later sterling silver belcher link chain with a lobster clasp fastener

there is a subsidiary second dial with black hands

tiny nick to the garnet and some light surface scratches

evidence of soft solder to some of the 'spokes' nice and strong though
