Andorite is lead, silver, antimony sulfosalt and was named for the Hungarian mineral collector Andor von Semsey (1833 1923), who holds a remarkable distinction for having two mineral species named after him (Andorite and Semseyite). I personally acquired the entire lot of ALL the top crystals that came into the U. S. in late 2004 through early 2005, of which many experts considered to be such a significant find,

while the other side is filled with Stilbite

but the orthorhombic crystals on this specimen are so distinct and thick for the species that you can clearly see them with the naked eye

of these specimens available and they are now seldom seen for sale like most classic minerals from Colorado

A worthwhile specimen that is comparably better than most I have seen from Siglo XX

but good Augelite specimens are few and far between

of which many experts considered to be such a significant find

despite the fact that over 10 million ounces of Silver came out in a period lasting around 11 years (started 1968-1970 and reopened 1975-1982)

The two-tone effect created from the inclusions makes for an eye-catching piece as a lot of the specimens from this mine are not terribly colorful

Then the mine manager decided that the miners were too distracted collecting Vivianite and not attending to their duties underground
