A Late Roman Period ,Germanic Bronze Military Buckle.A very interesting and rare to find, late roman period, bronze Germanic belt buckle. This item which dates to late 4th early 5th century AD, is in wonderful allover condition. It would likely have belonged to a Germanic soldier mercenary serving in the late period Roman army. With excellent openwork decoration and still retaining its belt pin , this is an excellent quality item. Lovely patina to the metal. Size 4. 0 CM x 4. 3 CM. Wiltshire collection
