Victorian Diamond & Ruby BandA lovely Victorian band featuring a scattering of vibrant red rubies and bright, icy white old cut diamonds. The unique arrangement of the stones along with the openwork and detailing of the shoulders gives the ring a geometric feel which we began to see appearing in jewellery of the late Victorian period. English hallmarks inside the band warrant the gold at 18 carat and tell us it was crafted in Birmingham in 1890. Era: Victorian, 1890 Ring size: P

A remarkable early Victorian single-stone ring built around a vibrant turquoise cabochon - a stone that represents friendship - within two concentric rings of scalloped openwork

displaying excellent brilliance and rainbow flashes of colour as it moves through the light

handwrought and based upon simple floral forms original to themselves

the edge of which is scalloped and uniquely marked by a line of black enamel

modelled after the colossal ancient Egyptian tombs at the Memphis necropolis
