Desert in MotionBig Bend National Park, Texas This photograph was created along the Rio Grande corridor in Big Bend National Park, where the desert drops away into a narrow ribbon of water and vegetation below. The cactus in the foreground immediately became the anchor of the scene for me, catching the last direct light of the day while the surrounding canyon began to cool and settle into shadow. Multiple exposures were taken to maintain clarity from the agave in the foreground through the mid-ground and into the rock formation behind it

This photograph was made at Monahans Sandhills State Park after wandering the dunes just before sunset

the quiet fear of walking away from everything familiar

The approach is interpretive rather than documentary

I made a few quick exposures without any intention of creating a finished image
